Given:

Total Number of Apple trees =960

Let Number of trees in each row be x

Then as per given data number of rows= Number of trees in each row + 2

Solution:

Formula:

Number of trees in each row
* Number of rows = Total Number of Apple tree.

Now Substituting the given values we get.


x(x+2)=960


x^2+2x=960\\x^2+2x-960=0\\

Now Evaluating the equation we get


x^2+32x-30x-960=0\\x(x+32)-30(x+32)=0\\(x-30)(x+32)=0\\

Now finding both the values of x


x-30=0\\x=30\\

Also


x+32=0\\x= -32

Now we have two value of x which 30 and -32.

But number of trees cannot be in in negative sign hence -32 value will be invalid


\therefore Number of trees in each row = 30

And Number of rows = 30+2 =32
