Comparing and contrasting is an important tool for readers because it teaches and shows the readers what is different or similar on something. For example, Christmas lights and flowers. They are both pretty but are completely opposite. Christmas lights are an electrical light used as a decoration and flowers is plant the was made by soil and seeds. See, completely different things. >:)
