Gabriel owns 27 fiction books and 23 non-fiction books. If 8 books fit on each shell,

how many shelves does he need for all of his books?

Answer:

He needs 6 shelves to be completely filled and an extra shelf for the remaining two

Explanation:

The remainder affected my answer because I had to figure the number of books left over when all the other shelves were completely filled.

Step-by-step explanation: if you divide 8 and 50 you will get 6 remainder 2 because 8 times 6 is 48 , 48-50 is 2 and if you cant bring down a zero cause 8 also can’t go in 20 evenly. This remainder effects it because two books will not fit on the shelf
