ANYONE get this?? HElp if you can!!Solve each given equation and show your work. Tell whether it has one solution, an infinite number of solutions, or no solutions, and identify each equation as an identity, a contradiction, or neither.

a) -2x + 16 + 5x = 9x + 20 - 6x - 4
b) 3x – 14 + 4x = 30 + 5x

Answer:

A) Any value of x makes the equation true. All real numbers Interval Notation: (−∞,∞)

B) Isolate the variable by dividing each side by factors that don't contain the variable. x = 22

C) Any value of x makes the equation true. All real numbers Interval Notation: ( −∞,∞)

A and C are identities and have infinite solutions, while B is neither, and has one solution.
