A long bone has the diaphysis and the epiphysis which are considered as two parts of it. Long bones are one of the five types of bones in the human body.

Articular cartilage is found at both sides of this bone and they are the biggest parts of a long bone. At the first parts of the bone, first, comes articular cartilage, and then spongy bone, and then compact bone. After it comes to the periosteum which is found in the middle.
