So they give us the a point and a slope

We can use point slope formula to find our equation in slope-intercept

y-y1=m(x-x1)

Let's put it all together!


y-3=(-1)/(2) (x+10)

Let's distribute our right side to make things neater


y-3=(-x)/(2) -5

Now all we have to do is solve for y

We can do this by adding 3 to both sides


y=(-x)/(2)-2
