The Nazi party began using schools and other youth organizations for indoctrination. They saw the creation of the Hitler Youth as insurance that the Nazi ideology will live on with the indoctrinated kids. After the war, of course, there was a denazification of Germany and not many kids still held those beliefs when they grew up.
