a is the coefficient of x^2 (2)

b is the coefficient of x (-12)

(-b+-√(b^2-4ac) )/(2a)=(12+-√((-12)^2-4(2)(10)) )/(2(2))=(12+-√(64) )/(4)=(12+-8)/(4)=(12+-8)/(4)=5,1
