Subsidies stimulate higher US production, which depresses global prices. If subsidies were removed, cotton and textile prices would go up. As both a US taxpayer and a textile consumer, do you recommend that subsidies (1) be increased, (2) be maintained at current levels, or (3) be eliminated?

Answer:3) be eliminated

Step-by-step explanation:

Cotton subsidies and other farm subsidies gives additional burden to American families with higher taxes and the efficiency and effectiveness of the subsidies are relatively low. So i will recommend subsidies be removed gradually and later eliminated.

And also removing subsidies may not significantly increase the price of clothes or cotton end products, since the buy rate of clothes will reduce with significant increase in price therefore removal of cotton subsidies may only lead to a little or affordable increase in the price of its end products.
