Louis earns $15 an hour. (We know this because 15 * x is the total amount of money he earns.)

Carl earns $12 an hour. (We know this because 36 / 3 is the total amount he get's paid per hour.

Equation for Louis: y = 15x

Equation for Carl: y = 12x

Louis earns more money then Carl.
