Twice the difference of a number and 4 is equal to three times the sum of the number and 5

number - N

find the number

2(N - 4) = 3(N + 5)

2N - 8 = 3N + 15

-15 - 8 = 3N - 2N

- 23 = N

Check

2(N - 4) = 3(N + 5)

2(-23 - 4) = 3(-23 + 5)

2(-27) = 3(-18)

-54 = -54
