In order to find the area of this figure, we have to add two separate areas: the area of the rectangle and the area of the semi-circle.

Finding the rectangle is realtively easy, all you have to do is multiply 12 and 19:

12* 19 = 228 ft^2

In order to find the area of a semi-circle, you have to find the area of a circle with a similar radius and divide it by 2:

(6^2π)/2 = 36π/2 = 18π

Without solving for pi, the area is 228 + 18π ft^2

If you want to solve for pi, the equation would look like this:

228 + 18(3.14) = 228 + 56.52 = 284.52 ft^2

Good luck!
