The puritans religion was the main part of their society. They applied to everything, and if someone broke the rules then too bad for them. I do not believe that Anne Hutchinson should have been banished just because she had a different opinion than the church leaders. Roger Williams is the same. I believe that he was simply speaking his opinions, and since this was old time America he was charged with heresy.
