Sam wanted to buy candy for all of his friends to share at lunch. one pound of chocolate cost 6.95 , but Sam only needs 0.6 of a pound. what will be the total cost for the chocolates Sam buys?​

The answer is 4.17 because one entire pound of chocolate is 6.95*1.0 but if you multiply 6.95*0.6 of a pound it is equal to 4.17
