The latitude and Altitude which are present on the surface of the planet Earth are very important for determining the climate of the various locations on the planet. Since the Earth is round, the light of the sun cannot reach every where on the surface of earth.
So as far as you go from the equator towards the north or the south pole, the temperature of that region decreases. Similarly as you go to a higher altitude on the surface of the planet, the temperature on the places at higher altitude decreases.
