perimeter of rectangle= length + width + length + width

P = ( l + 2 ) + w + ( l + 2 ) + w

P = 2 ( l + 2 ) + 2 w

P = 4 + 2 l + 2 w

Perimeter of rectangle added 2 to width:

P = l + w + l + w

p = l + ( w + 2) + l + ( w + 2)

p = 2 l + 2 ( w + 2)

p = 2 l + 2 w + 4
