Answer:

Width is 3 cm less that length and perimeter is 22 cm. The length and width are 7 cm, 4 cm respectively.

Solution:

Given, Width is 3 cm less that length and perimeter is 22 cm

We have to find the length and width of the rectangle

Now, let the length of the rectangle be b, then length becomes b – 3

Now, we know that, perimeter = 22

perimeter = 2(width + length)

2(width + length) = 22

2(b – 3 + b) = 22

2(2b – 3) = 22

4b – 6 = 22

4b = 22 + 6

4b = 28

b = 7

So, length of rectangle is 7 cm. Then width of rectangle is 7 – 3 = 4 cm.

Hence, the length and width of the rectangles are 7cm and 4cm respectively
