In most recent election, 19 percent of all eligible college students voted. If the random sample of 20 students were surveyed, find the probability that none of the students voted.

We know that 19 percent of all college students voted, this means that the other 81% of the students did not vote.

Now if we have 20 random students, we want to find the probability that none of the students voted, this is the multiplication of the probabilities for each student, and we know that each one of the randomly chosen students has an 81% probability (or 0.81 in decimal form) where the student did not vote.

Then we need to do the product for the probabilities of the 20 students, this is 0.81 multiplied by itself 20 times:

p = 0.81^(20) = 0.015

This means that the probability where none of the 20 students voted is equal to 0.015, or 0.015*100% = 1.5%
