What I would do is a combination of both, depending on the kind of event. for instance, a classical music concert in the town hall of the city. I would use push marketing techniques to place some posters and flyers in music stores, and there I would sell tickets. So people get noticed about the concert, they are interested in music because they are already in the store, and then, make them buy those tickets with some promotions.

On the other hand, I would use pull marketing techniques to make customers come to my event. I would but some advertising time in classical radio stations and offer a promotion to invite costumes to the event. I also would invite them to visit my website to know more about my company and future shows. I would try to create a long-term relationship with them.
