Imagine you are on a local commission appointed to study the lack of proper recreation facilities for youth in your neighborhood.
Decide what facilities should be recommended.
Write an appropriate resolution to be presented to your county government. Remember to give the reasons for your recommendation.
Option 2:
After reading several public documents, choose one as the subject of an expository critique.
Assess the power, validity and truthfulness of the documents and their appeal to friendly and hostile audiences.
Assess how the arguments anticipate and address reader concerns and counterclaims. For example, do the documents appeal to reason, authority, or emotion?
