Slope is the ratio of change in y direction to change in x direction that is
slope=\frac {\triangle y}{\triangle x}

Using the co-ordinate system, change in x is 9-4=5 points

change in y=7-5=2 points


Slope=\frac {2}{5}

Note that since slope is a ratio, it doesn't have units

Therefore, the slope is
(2)/(5) or 0.4 when expressed as a decimal or 40% when expressed as a percentage
