What were the Articles of Confederation? What type of union did the Articles of Confederation create? What was one function of the central government under the Articles of Confederation?

The Articles of Confederation was the original constitution. Constitution in 1789. I'm pretty sure this made a union in which the U.S. states could not overthrow the U.S. Constitution and leave the union. The Central Government had the power to declare war, appoint military officers, sign treaties, make alliances, appoint foreign ambassadors, and manage relations with Indians
