The cancerous cells are genetically mutated, whether it may be carcinoma or sarcoma. They grow in an uncontrolled manner by the process referred to as hyperplasia. In this process, the cells though similar in nature, proliferates to an uncontrolled and huge number with in the tissue, thus depriving the healthy cells of the tissues of essential nutrients. Then comes the stage of dysplasia where more genetic alteration takes place in the cells making it completely different and disoriented. The cells also loses the organizational activity to retain tissue structure and functions.
