The Intolerable Acts prevented Massachusetts from running their own government. The Massachusetts Assembly would be made of officials appointed by the king. The Quartering Act was strengthened, if no homes were available, soldiers could join private homes. The British expected to isolate Britain and the other colonies to be obedient. The Virginia House of Burgesses states,"an attack made on one of our sister colonies . . . is an attack make on all British America."
