Virginia Company was a cooperative enterprise which introduced Jamestown. The main objective of joint ventures was to establish colonization.
It also took large amount of money for overseas exploration. While profits were great if the colonies thrived risks were also similar if the colonies were not profitable.
Many ships which commenced expedition for the purpose of exploration never returned. Joint Stock Company is similar to modern day cooperation. Joint ventures were taken up during the seventeenth century by English men.
