6 + -3x = 5x + -10x + 18

First, combine any like terms. The only like terms are: 5x and -10x

5x + -10x = 5x - 10x = -5x

6 + - 3x = -5x + 18

Add 3x to both sides.

6 = -2x + 18

Subtract 18 from both sides

-12 = -2x

Divide both sides by -2

6 = x
