x^3-3x^2+5x-3=x^3-x^2-2x^2+2x+3x-3

=x^2(x-1)-2x(x-1)+3(x-1)

=(x-1)(x^2-2x+3)

i think you are missing something.

if base area=x^2-2x+3

then height=x-1
