It was as simple as: Men had rights to do things such as voting and working and women were denied these rights and expected to be, essentially, homemakers

Answer: In Greek society men have all they wanted, they have all the rights. Men could vote, had property, social groups, and status.

While women had almost nothing, they could not vote, they just had they own land, a woman's place was the home and her purpose in life was the rearing of children. But were a place to have a family.

Women needed to work at home.
