Solution:

It is given that each quarter is 10 minutes long. We know that Evan played the whole first quarter which means Evan played for the whole 10 minutes. And it is given that in the next quarter Evan played for first 4 minutes out of 10 mins.

That clearly means Josh played for
`(10-4) = 6` minutes in the second quarter. We have to find for how long did Evan play.

Evan played for 10 minutes in the first quarter + 4 minutes in the second quarter which is equal to total of 14 minutes.

Thus, Evan played for 14 minutes long .
