Explain the structure of the mitochondria and how this makes the mitochondria more efficient. What do mitochondria and chloroplasts have in common?

Answer: The structure includes an inner membrane that folds over many times and creates layered structures called cristae. Since many of the chemical reactions happen on the inner membrane, the increased surface area creates more space for reactions to occur. If you have more space to work, you can get more work done.

Similarities: They are both found in eukaryotic cells. They both produce food for their cells. They are similar in size.
