\frac{2{x}^(2) - 5x - 3}{2x + 1} = ([x - 3][2x + 1])/(2x + 1) = x - 3

This is much faster than doing long-polynomial division, which we could have done, since the divisor is not in the form of x - c, where c gives gives the OPPOSITE TERMS OF WHAT THEY REALLY ARE.
