In a standard deck of cards, what is the smallest number of cards that you would have to draw in order to have a pair (two of the same rank, but different suits)?

You have to drawn at least 14 cards to have a pair

Explanation:

A standard deck of cards consists of 52 cards, it includes 13 ranks in each of the four suits: clubs, diamonds, spades and clubs.

Therefore, if you are dealt 13 cards it is possible that you have a hand with each rank of different suits (one ace, one one, one two.....one queen and one king). The 14th card dealt must give you a hand with a pair of some rank.
