In deck of 52 cards there are 26 red and 26 black cards

In these 26 red cards there are two red 5's and two red 6's one of each Diamond and Heart.

probability of a red five = 2/52= 1/26

Similarly, probability of a red six = 2/52= 1/26

therefore probability of a red six or a red five = 1/26+ 1/26= 2/26= 1/13.
