Hello. I am looking up a dead relative who died a few years back for an essay. Although the research through the US government and Marines is difficult, I have one question.

In the early days of WWII, what was the minimum age to enter the Armed Forces voluntary and with parental consent (if that was a thing then).

Edit: If this can be answered asap, I would really appreciate it.

Explanation: With parental consent in writing the minimum age is 17. People who are 18 and older are permitted to join the military with out parent consent
