Public opinion facilitates democracy. Opinion polls are considered to be the best mechanism through which the leaders can understand the pulse of the public and frame public policies. Public policies can be effective if it is guided by the public opinion.

Public opinion is sought when a particular Government respects the will of the people. Public judgment is the final statement of the public who are well aware of the issue and they are expected to give a say from their point of view.

Deliberate polling is the most effective method of polling where people are given a chance to analyze the issue in an elaborate manner and then they caste their vote. This method is much different than the opinion polling.
