If heat denatures the protein enzyme. Heat breaks the interactions between the side chains of amino acids responsible for primary secondary and tertiary structures of the enzyme. This deforms the enzyme’s active site making it unable to bind substrate and catalyze reactions

Enzyme inhibition. This involves using competitive molecules that compete with the ideal substrate for the active site of the enzyme. If the competitive molecule binds permanently to the enzyme this renders the enzyme incapable of catalyzing reactions further.
