Answer: During this period women received more opportunities in the fields of science and mathematics. Laura Bassi, for example, for the first female professor of both anatomy and experimental philosophy. Pope Benedict XIV awarded the mathematician Maria Gaetana Agnesi a professorship. Both of them were from the University of Bologna. In France, there was Émilie du Châtelet who wrote her most influential work in the field of mathematics in the 1730s.

Explanation: This period was called The Enlightenment, The Age of Reason, some also called it. It gave many women who worked in the field of science more posibilities for the development of their careers and let them pursue various degrees, too.
