getting jobs white citizens wanted for themselves.

So, many of black people in Georgia managed to obtained high paying jobs that usually only available to white citizens regardless of the discrimination that they face.

This made a lot of racist extremely unhappy. This disdain toward successful African American community led to an event called the Atlanta Massacre of 1906, where a group of white citizens openly killed and torture black citizens .
