The length of a rectangle is 4 inches longer than its width. The area of the rectangle is 12 square inches. What are the length and width?

Answer:

w(4 + w) = 12 is the correct answer.

Explanation:

You have to think that area is lenght x widht, so the first and second options musn't be correct. (you have + and -)

The last one, it isn't correct because, you have width but don't have lenght.

Length is not 4.
