3x - y = -5
-3x -3x
-y
=
-3x
-5
-1 -1 -1
y = 3x + 5
Explanation:
subtract 3x from both sides. 3x cancel 3x, but it can't cancel -5 since it doesn't have any x.
since y is negative, divide both sides by -1.
the slope here is 3x, but the slope intercept form is y = 3x + 5
