Answer: About 3

Explanation:

Given : A lawn is in the shape of a trapezoid with following dimensions :-

Height : h = 50 feet

Bases : a = 30 feet and b=170 feet

Area of trapezoid is given by :-

A=(1)/(2)(a+b)h\\\\\Rightarrow\ A=(1)/(2)(30+170)(50)\\\\\Rightarrow\ A=5000\text{ square feet}

Also , it is given that each bag covers 2400 square feet.

Then, the number of bags of fertilizer needed =
(5000)/(2400)=2.0833333\approx3

Hence, about 3 bags of fertilizer must be purchased to cover the lawn.
