Hope is the thing that i wish to have

Where my worries will be cut short

Hope is the thing that I wish I had

When i analyze my life and decided its bad

Hope is the thing that i need

To succeed and to believe

Hope is the thing that I want

And ive checked everywhere but it cant be bought

Hope is the thing that i depend on

since my grandmother is no longer here

Hope is that thing that no longer exist

it was yanked from me as a kid

Hope is a fairytale

And it went something like this

Once upon a time Hope was my drug but now it is the death of me

That could abash the little Bird

That kept so many warm—

It asked a crumb—of Me.
