Feet should be inspected daily, cleaned with warm water and mild soap, carefully dried especially between the toes and lotion should be applied to the tops of the toes and bottom of the feet. do not apply lotion between the toes because increased moisture can lead to infection. The cutting of toenails is institution specific and if cutting is permitted, attention should be given to not cut the toenails too close to the skin; nails should be cut straight across, using emery boards for sharp edges.
