1. The length of a rectangular field is 42 meters more than the width. Its perimeter is 600 meters. Find its dimensions.

Answer: 1) Length = 171 meters, width = 129 meters

Explanation:

Length = w + 42

width = w

Perimeter = 600

Perimeter = 2(Length) + 2(width)

600 = 2(w + 42) + 2(w)

600 = 2w + 84 + 2w

600 = 4w + 84

516 = 4w

129 = w

Length = w + 42

= 129 + 42

= 171
