The Renaissance movement was crucial for the development of Europe. This movement manage to focus gradually the societies toward science, progress, seeking of the truth, while in meantime moving it away from the Catholic Church. More and more people wanted to be free from the Church and its ruling with fear and terror, and they wanted to have much bigger freedom while still remaining Christians. This led to the formation of religious movements such as Protestant movement, and many more after it, which attracted the people towards them, making a huge blow to the Catholic Church that lost lot of its following, political power, and territory of influence.
