If you multiply a binomial by a binomial how many terms are in the product before combining like terms?

Answer: 4

Explanation:

A binomial has two terms. 2 terms × 2 terms = 4 terms.

Example:

(x + 2)(x + 3) = x² + 3x + 2x + 6

= x² + 5x + 6 after combining like terms
