Explanation:

Given situation : Komi has 9 differently colored square tiles, and he wants to put four of them together larger square consisting of four tiles.

Since , the tiles he put in square will be in order, so he use permutation to calculate the number of ways to the tiles in the big square.

Since, the number of permutations to n objects taking r a a time is given by :-


P(n,r)=(n!)/((n-r)!)

Similarly, the number of permutations to 9 objects taking 4 a a time is given by :-


P(9,4)=(9!)/((9-4)!)=3024
