2y-x= - 29 equation 2

using equation 2 we have:

2y +29 = x equation 3

using equation 3 in equation 1 we have:

3x+4y= -23

3(2y +29) +4y = -23

6y + 87 +4y =-23

10y +87= -23

10y = -23-87

10y = -110

y= -110/10

y= -11

so we have:

2y +29 = x

2(-11) +29 = x

we have:

x= 7
