Two angles are complementary. The measure of the larger angle is 12 less than 2 times the measure of the smaller angle. Find the measures of both angles.

Larger Angle = 2x - 12

x + 2x - 12 = 90 Add 12 to both sides. Combine like terms on the left.

3x -12+12 = 90+12 Combine

x = 34

Small angle = 34

Large angle = 2*34 - 12 = 56

Total 34 + 56 = 90
