Which era saw the spread of true conifers?

I want to say the Mesozoic. The mesozoic was the “age of reptiles” as well as the “age of conifers.” But the Paleozoic is where coniferous plants first appeared. But it wasn’t until the Mesozoic in which they became the dominant group of land plants
